Trading Master Plan is by Dave Gagn, a knowledgeable position trader.

Dave, like us, a position and occasional swing trader and he’s put together a pretty comprehensive guide on how to create wealth trading the markets over the short to medium term.

This is a guide that whilst aimed primarily at beginners contains enough in depth information, particularly on the money management aspects of trading, to satisfy more experienced traders.

His trading plan is based on technical analysis and he gives some good basic introduction to the whole ’science’ of studying various types of charts. If you have covered these aspects before then the introductory chapters will merely serve as confirmation. If you are new to trading Dave sets things out in a clear manner and includes many examples of actual trades he has made in the past.

If we have one slight criticism it is that the examples he gives are a little dated, including the Apple example on the sales page. However his methodology is sound nonetheless. With any kind of trading plan you will inevitably get dated examples. He can’t keep rewriting the plan every week!

Dave goes on to discuss and outline his own trading strategies which are usually medium term positional trader techniques with the occasional swing trade thrown in. A Day Trader he is not.

The real meat of the trading plan comes with the section on Money Management and Dave drives home how important this aspect is to being a successful trader. We can’t stress enough how good money management contributes to your success as a trader. And it’s really on the basis of how Dave deal with money management that we recommend his Trading Master Plan as a worthwhile investment.
